Podere Ortica

Our vineyards

Podere Ortica extends for approx 30 ha, of which 7 vineyards 2 olive grove to the rest to arable and woodland.

The company is located in a picturesque corner of Tuscany in the Chianti area between Florence, Arezzo and Siena: in the land that inspired Dante and Leonardo.

Today all of the company's land is managed under organic farming.

"Vignavecchia", 1 hectare of vineyard dating back to the early 80 where we find sangiovese, malvasia, trebbiano, colorino, Canaiolo and other native.

“MONTEGONZI”, 3 hectares of vines, implanted in 2002/2003, with typical varieties of our area where a 80% Sangiovese the remainder divided between malvasia, trebbiano, colorino e canaiolo.

"VIGNANUOVA", 3 hectares planted in 2015, Here we could choose the clones which are combined with our earthly, but we wanted only native varieties sangiovese, colorino, canaiolo, aleatico, Malvasia and Trebbiano.

“L’OLIVETA”, 2 hectares on the slopes of Pratomagno, in a plot with a beautiful terrace facing south, we cultivate the varieties of Leccino Moraiolo and Frantoio.

"THE GARDEN", in a small plot grow tomatoes, eggplant, strawberries and turn them into preserves, pickles and jams.

Our production is being handled by us, in first person. We follow non-invasive natural methods with plants and human health. Assecondiamo only the fruit of nature.
